Once more, the Pen of the Year® 2008 Edition highlights the essential material of the Graf von Faber-Castell's collections: the wood, used in its most noble variations

The Pen of the Year® 2008 Edition is inspired by Countess Ottilie von Faber's private boudoir, whose woodworks are handcrafted in Indian satinwood
This room located in the Faber-Castell's chateau in Stein-Germany is nicknamed "the lemon room", for the precious wood -also called "Ceylon's lemon wood" recalls the fragrance of the lemon when the wood is cut

The cylindrical barrel of the Pen of The Year® 2008 Edition is coated with selected, cut, lacquered then handpolished 84 plates of this precious wood from Sri Lanka, combining an astonishing parquet with delicate chevrons motifs in a perfect harmony

The result is unique: at each movement of the pen, the individual plates in yellow and golden brown nuances sparkle and produce elegant light/dark effects and gives to the pen the record of the world's smallest parquet in satinwood

Each Pen of the Year® 2008 Edition is unique, crowned with a check-board facetted citrin stone set on the tip of the barrel, fitted with a handcrafted bicolor etched gold 18 Kt nib (available in 3 sizes)

Finally, the Pen of the Year® 2008 Edition is displayed in a splendid lacquered solid beechwood case with an beautiful leaflet and a limited edition certificate
It bears Count Faber-Castell's personal signature certifying the limited edition and the authenticity of the employed satinwood
